Let’s be real—clutter has a way of sneaking up on us. One day, your home is a peaceful oasis, and the next, you’re playing Tetris with your kitchen cabinets, wondering how you accumulated 17 mismatched Tupperware lids.
If you’re feeling the itch to declutter but don’t know where to start, I’ve got you. Enter the 10-Day Clutter Challenge—a super simple, totally doable way to clear out the chaos without turning your home into a war zone. The best part? You only have to part with a handful of things each day. Easy peasy.
Here’s how it works:
Day 1: Say Goodbye to 10 Items
Start strong! Find 10 things to donate, sell, or toss. Clothes you never wear, expired pantry items, that weird kitchen gadget you swore you’d use but never did (looking at you, avocado slicer).
Day 2: Let Go of 9 More
Time to dig a little deeper. Check those forgotten drawers, the linen closet, or anywhere clutter likes to hide. Trust me, there’s always more.
Day 3: Declutter 8 Things
Focus on stuff you haven’t touched in months—maybe old decor, books collecting dust, or those candles you keep saving for a "special occasion." (Spoiler: every day can be a special occasion. Light the candle.)
Day 4: Find 7 Things to Go
Check your kitchen, bathroom, and desk. Duplicates, expired products, that fancy moisturizer you wanted to love but didn’t—buh-bye!
Day 5: Toss 6 More
Halfway there! Get rid of broken items, mystery cords, or that free tote bag from a conference three years ago.
Day 6: Remove 5 Things
Expired makeup, unread magazines, that drawer full of takeout menus (hello, Google exists). Five things. You got this.
Day 7: Bye-Bye to 4 Items
The finish line is in sight! Find four things that no longer serve you. Check storage bins, under the bed, or your overflowing junk drawer.
Day 8: Let Go of 3 More
Look in those "I’ll deal with this later" piles. Today’s the day, my friend.
Day 9: Say Goodbye to 2 Items
Almost there! Find two more things that are broken, outdated, or just taking up space.
Day 10: The Grand Finale – 1 Last Item
You made it! Pick one final thing to let go of, then take a moment to appreciate how much lighter your space (and mind) feels.
And just like that, you’ve cleared out 55 things without breaking a sweat! See? Decluttering doesn’t have to be a stressful, all-day event. Little by little, you’ve created space for what truly matters.
